SUMMARY:Summer Intern Missions 2026
DESCRIPTION:Summer Camp Internship is a powerful opportunity for youth ages 14–18 who are ready to go deeper in their walk with Christ and grow as servant leaders. These mission-focused weeks are designed to ignite spiritual growth\, strengthen leadership\, and provide real\, hands-on ministry experience.\nInterns will have the incredible privilege of ministering to hundreds of children and youth throughout Summer Camps. From preparing and leading camp activities to facilitating small groups and serving in altar ministry\, interns won’t just observe ministry—they will step into it. They will pray boldly\, serve faithfully\, and lead courageously.\nThis mission trip experience is for students who have made a wholehearted commitment to discipleship and are willing to embrace both the challenges and the rewards of ministry. It will stretch them. It will refine them. And it will shape them. While the journey requires dedication and perseverance\, the reward is profound. By the end of the summer\, interns will have grown in confidence and character—learning to pray for others with faith\, work together as a unified team\, serve with the heart of Christ\, and take meaningful steps forward in their personal calling. This is not just a mission trip; it’s a season of transformation.\n \n Junior Intern Mission\n \n \n Resident Intern Mission\n \n \nDates: May 25 – June 12Cost: $449 \nThis Mission is for youth ages 14 and 15. Parents and students can also donate to their own trip if desired. It’s important to note that all donated funds will go to the overall trip and do not “belong” to an individual person. \nWhen is payment due? \nApproximately 50% of the trip is due by April 1\, 2026\, and the trip must be fully funded by May 15\, 2026. \nHow do we fundraise? \nIndividuals are encouraged to share the opportunity and their giving link with friends and family. This is best done by personal contact but can also be shared on social media or via a support letter. \nHow do we see progress on fundraising goals? \nTrip attendees can log in to their profile to see donations and remaining trip amounts due. \nDoes the Junior Intern mission trip include a discount for attending Youth Camp? \nWe understand that families are navigating the rising costs in nearly every area right now. As a camp\, we are managing those same realities. The expenses of hosting camp have increased significantly\, especially in the years since 2020. Our goal is to price camp and internship as responsibly as possible while still providing a safe\, high-quality\, and spiritually impactful experience for every person. \nWe truly wish we could offer this experience at a lower cost\, but that isn’t possible at this time. We encourage families to prayerfully trust God’s provision as students take this step of faith. Many families invite friends and extended family to partner with them financially\, and scholarship opportunities for summer camp may also be available through your local Victory Life campus. \nWe are grateful for your understanding and partnership as we invest in the next generation together. \n\n\n\n General Questions\n \n \n \nWhen do applications close? \nApplications will remain open until April 15 or until spots fill up\, whichever comes first. \n  \nHow are Interns selected? \nApplying does not guarantee a place on the Mission Trip. Interns are not primarily considered on a first-come\, first-served basis. Applications are prayerfully reviewed considering individual maturity\, desire for discipleship\, & leadership’s discernment of God’s guidance. There are limited spots available. \n  \nWhat is the next step once I apply? \nOur team will prayerfully review applications and reach out with any next steps\, such as an interview\, training\, and registration. Contact connor.harrison@vl.church with any questions. \n  \nWhat are the trip dates? \nThe Junior Intern trip is May 25 through June 12\, which includes a home visit on June 5-7. The Resident Intern trip is May 25 through June 26\, which includes home visits on June 5-7\, June 12-14\, and June 19-21. Each trip attendee’s family will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the mission location at Camp Victory. \n  \nBesides fundraising\, how should we prepare for the trip? \nInterns are encouraged to spend time praying and preparing their hearts to be open to engaging in the discipleship & ministry opportunities. A reading assignment will be due before the mission trip. A packing list can be found HERE. \n  \nWill interns have access to phones during the trip? \nNo. Phones will be checked in with staff and will be returned on weekends before interns go home. While interns may have access to their phones on weekends\, they are strongly encouraged to abstain from social media throughout the entire duration of the program to help remain focused on their spiritual growth and ministry. \n\n\n\n I have another question…\n \n \n \nWe’d love to help! We recommend your student attend camp with the age group where your student normally attends services (Kids or Youth).   \n\n\n \nOur summer camp event has a strong spiritual emphasis. We encourage campers in their personal walk with God through powerful praise & worship\, exciting small groups\, and amazing evening services. Their days are filled with fun activities\, such as: creative workshops\, big & wild games\, swimming\, and more.  \n\n\n \nThe cost is $339.00 per camper. This includes a non-refundable $49.00 deposit to complete registration and secure a place for your student.  \n\n\n \nThis price includes: \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n24-hour-a-day adult supervision & care\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nOn-site medical staff\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n4 nights of accommodations in our climate-controlled cabins\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n11 hot meals prepared by our dedicated kitchen staff\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nExciting camp activities & themed program\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nNightly services\, small groups\, & intentional discipleship\n\n\n\n \n\n\n \nWhat you need in order to register: \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nHealth history & a detailed list of your child’s medications\, if any.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe names and phone numbers of 2 emergency contacts.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe policy number for your child’s health insurance\, if any.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nA checking account or major credit card to complete the non-refundable $49 deposit.\n\n\n\n \n\n\n \nFAQs\n\n\n \n \n\nFinancial Questions\nWhy does Camp cost more this year?\nCamp tuition has increased to $339 to account for rising costs due to inflation. We understand this may not be ideal for every family; however\, this increase was necessary to help cover the growing expenses associated with camp. We encourage you to register early\, if possible\, in order to take advantage of monthly payment plan options. \n  \nCan I make payments?\nYes! A non-refundable deposit of $49 is required at the time of registration. You can choose to pay the balance in full or a monthly payment plan with the final balance due 3 weeks prior to camp. You can also pay any amount in advance by logging into the parent account. \n  \nCan someone else make a payment toward my student’s camp tuition?\nYes\, please contact summercamp@vl.church for instructions. Please note\, payments toward a specific student account are not tax-deductible. \n  \nIs there a scholarship for camp?\nPlease reach out directly to the Victory Life Campus your student attends to see if there are scholarship funds you can apply for. \n\nGeneral Questions\nWhen does registration close?\nRegistration closes 2 weeks before each camp week\, or when spots are full\, whichever comes first. Payment is due in full 3 weeks prior to each camp week. \n  \nWhat does my student need to pack for camp?\nStudents will need to bring clothing\, hygiene items\, and a pillow & sleeping bag. A detailed packing list can be found HERE. \n  \nHow do I know if my child is ready for Summer Camp?\nOne indication of camp-readiness is if your student has successfully spent time away from home previously\, especially overnight. We encourage you to pray with them and talk about whether they feel excited for camp. If your student says they’re ready\, you can support them by expressing your confidence in their ability to do well and enjoy the experience. Many campers adjust to camp life quickly\, while some may need a little extra time. \n  \nWhat if my student is homesick during camp?\nIt’s normal for a camper to feel uncertain at first\, especially on the first night. We recognize this and make a special effort to ensure their introduction to camp is welcoming and comforting. Our staff receives training in how to recognize & assist students with feelings of homesickness. We are also committed to partnering with our parents to support students who are struggling with missing home. Our staff will often reach out to parents for guidance; however\, having a homesick camper call mom or dad is not our first step\, as it typically heightens those feelings and makes it harder for them to settle in. We find that most students do well once they are participating in activities\, connecting with their bunkmates\, and building relationships with staff. \n  \nCan I call my student? Can they call home?\nAt check-in\, any phones will be signed in and returned to the student at check-out. We want our students to be fully present and free from distractions for the camp experience. We don’t do calls to or from home; however\, we do offer camp mail\, which allows students to receive messages from home. \n  \nDo you have a plan for inclement weather?\nPrior to camp\, our volunteers receive safety training\, including protocol for bad weather. During camp\, our staff closely monitors the weather. There is not a storm shelter on campus; however\, in the event of a safety concern such as a weather warning\, our staff will work together to ensure students are in the safest place available. Camp will communicate weather-related updates via social media and/or directly with parents as needed. \n\nCabin Assignments\nCan I request my student be bunkmates with a friend?\nWhile we cannot guarantee final cabin placement\, we welcome friend requests and do our very best to try to honor these wishes. Cabin assignments will be revealed at check-in. \n  \nCan I request my student be placed with a certain counselor?\nWe understand the desire to choose someone known and trusted to care for your student. Regrettably\, we cannot accommodate specific counselor requests. Cabin assignments are made thoughtfully and prayerfully by our team\, considering several factors. Our volunteers are vetted through an intentional onboarding process\, which includes a background check and safety training. Counselors also receive coaching on camp life\, student support\, and prayer ministry. Parents are welcome to apply to serve in this capacity! \n\nI have another question…\nWe’d love to help!
