Get Involved

God is doing something new. Lots of people’s “spiritual radars” are buzzing with it. It’s like the feeling you get when you walk outside and can sense a storm coming. It’s the heavy scent of rain hanging in the air and the prickles of changed wind on your skin. It’s those little cues that something big is about to happen. That’s the spiritual vibe I get every time I walk into Victory Life these days. He’s getting us ready as a church for a change coming.
I couldn’t begin to tell you what it will be; after all, I have only those spiritual tinglings to guide me. But there is something I recognize about it: the hugeness of it will be directly proportional to the intimacy of it. It seems almost contradictory; God’s oceanic work in the church will be accomplished through the day-to-day, nitty-gritty of relationships. But it’s only through relationship that real change happens. God has shown us from the very beginning that when He created Adam and Eve and gave them a purpose, He moves and works in partnership.
And with this new-God-thing on the horizon, you have to ask yourself a question: Who do I want to be in this event? Are you going to be on the front lines, or are you content to be a spectator and watch passively as the Holy Spirit moves? I know which I want to be. I want to be right in the trenches with my own part to play. While I may not be the main character, I at least want the Oscar for best supporting role. I know for sure that I definitely do not want to be an extra.
Positioning yourself to be an essential part of what God is doing takes only a willingness to be involved and the choice to follow through. Change is coming, and it happens in the context of relationship. God is going global by going relational. Change, even this change that God is bringing now, is going to start in the seeming routine of relationships. In the shared joys and sorrows and life stories and simple communion lies the sacred disguised as the mundane. In these small life connections, God is doing something huge!
If you want to be part of this move of God, it’s simple. Get involved. Join a Grow Team. Join a Life Group. There is absolutely no better place to get in partnership with God and with each other. These places will allow you to discover and use the gifts God has placed inside you to bless others, and to discover the next step to go deeper into His grace and His plan. These places bring you naturally into the work of the kingdom, which is all about building the church (hint: that’s us!) in order to change the world. And once you’ve plugged in, then buckle up, because the Spirit is about to do something amazing.

Hi my name is Rolanda my fiancé Jeff Thorn and myself visited for the first time this morning. We was fought all morning trying to get there. We missed the 8:00 & 9:00 services and was barely able to catch about the last 15-20 minutes of the 11:00 message. As soon as we walked in the door I knew why we was being fought so hard, the Holy Spirit was so strong that it made my hair stand. As soon as we was seated tears began flooding down my face. See I’ve been running for a long time and last night I told Jeff I’m tired of running and we decided that we was going to church this morning. After talking Victory came to my mind. I had never been there but I have heard the messages on TV before and I’ve been wanting to visit so today was the day. As they gave the invitation I quickly raised my hand and I prayed that prayer and rededicated myself to the Lord. I want a relationship with my Father and I’m so excited to be given the chance to accept Jesus back into my life. I just know that I know that I know that yes like u said something huge is coming and I’m so excited and honored to be allowed to be a member of the family of God and to be allowed to witness the awesomeness. I can’t wait until next service I know that God has something big for us. Thank you to victory for being here and allowing God to work through you. We have found home
