There is a kind of “tired” that taking a nap or time off work won’t fix. There are different words for this kind of tired like weary, faint-hearted, and burnout. There are signs of this kind of tired like cynicism, little things that shouldn’t bother you rub you the wrong way, all people drain you, and you see things mostly negatively. Unless we get revitalized, we give room for the enemy. There may come a time where you just want to give up, even on things the Lord has assigned you to do. How does God respond to your plea to let you quit?
Matthew 11:28-30 MSG “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
