Strongholds are misunderstood, so destroying something you don’t understand might be pretty hard when you don’t know what the Word says about them. There are strongholds that we NEED. We need a fortress of Holy Spirit–of Truth. We need a stronghold of Truth to defend our minds against the enemy.

We must be aware of and intimate with Truth (Christ, the Word) in order to make our thoughts obey Him.
