Fear talks people out of their calling. (Calling is obedience to God’s ordering of your steps) Fear talks people into doing crazy things. The Lord tells you to do something…and then fear stops you. People are going through a lot of different things. Jesus is the answer for every single one of them. But fear talks people out of what Jesus has called them to do. They say “the Lord is telling me this…, but I’m so afraid.” For example, the Lord tells you to start a Life Group and you have fearful thoughts of “what if no one sees me, what if it’s awkward, etc.” Or the Holy Spirit tells you to pray for someone, but you immediately think of all the reasons why you shouldn’t.
“I’m tired of fear stopping us as God’s people! God did not give us a spirit of fear. He gave us power, love, and a sound mind. That’s the spirit He gave us, not fear.”
