Pastor Jacob has gotten to the point where Israel has become a nation. He shows us the “honeymoon” phase of the marriage between Israel and God— and it doesn’t last terribly long. Israel complains, they whine, and they are just simply ungrateful. They get a taste of what God’s goodness means and they realize pretty quick that His goodness is a bit TOO good for them. That’s why we have to go through the whole story, to find the new kind of Human that makes us worthy of being in God’s presence.
